Large, High Priority Kimberlite Targets Identified in James Bay Lowlands

Further Airborne Surveys and Deep Overburden Sampling Programs are Underway

Ottawa (November 18, 2003) – In response to significant geochemical and geophysical results, Northern Shield Resources Inc. (TSX Venture: NRN) announced today that the preliminary review of the results from a recently completed high resolution magnetic survey has identified at least seven high priority kimberlite targets from its 100% owned Bradley Project in northern Ontario. The isolated magnetic targets were picked from the data acquired from a 5,177 line-km fixed wing magnetic survey, flown at 150 meters spacing in September, 2003. The two largest anomalies measure 450 x 550 meters and 350 meters in diameter and are located up-ice from kimberlite and diamond indicators (see press release July 15, 2003).

Follow-up heavy mineral sampling has commenced to test these targets. Thirty-one other magnetic targets have also been identified and are being investigated. The geology of the northern portion of the property is dominated by flat-lying Cretaceous sedimentary rock units that act as a filter, subduing the “noisey” magnetic signature of the underlying Archean gneisses and enhancing near surface, high frequency anomalies. Some of the anomalies have been posted on the company’s website. The survey was flown by Goldak Exploration Technology Ltd of Saskatchewan.

A field-crew is now on the property conducting deep overburden sampling with a Pionjar drill to continue to define several distinct kimberlite indicator mineral trails emanating from the property. Northern Shield has commenced additional airborne surveys nearby. The results from a heavy mineral sampling program completed earlier this fall in the area are pending microprobe confirmation and will be released shortly. A ground geophysical program is being planned for early December 2003, followed by diamond drill program in the New Year.
