NORTHERN SHIELD RESOURCES INC. RETAINS RENMARK FINANCIAL COMMUNICATIONS INC. AS ITS INVESTOR RELATIONS SERVICE COMPANY

Ottawa (August 12, 2004) – Northern Shield Resources Inc. (TSX-V: NRN) announced that it has retained the services of Renmark Financial Communications Inc. to handle its investor relations activities. Headed by Mr Henri Perron, Renmark Financial, based in Montreal, is one of the largest retail investor relations firms in Canada specializing in corporate financial communications for companies listed on all Canadian and U.S. Exchanges.

“We are pleased to announce that we have selected Renmark to strengthen Northern Shield’s profile in the financial community. We believe that Renmark will enhance the Company’s visibility, thanks to its well tried investor relations strategies and methodology,” declared President and CEO, Mr. Ian Bliss.

The terms of the service agreement is for a twelve month period with a right of termination after six months for a retainer of $5,000 per month for the first six month and $6,000 for the balance of the year. Renmark holds no securities or options in the company.
