Northern Shield Resources (TSX-V NRN) is a Canadian Junior Mining company focused on exploring for platinum deposits in Eastern Canada. Despite the urgent need to find platinum sources in a politically stable region, there are very few mining companies focused on exploring for Platinum Group Elements (PGEs) in Canada. More recently Northern Shield has discovered a new and significant volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) camp in Northern Ontario with high grades of copper, zinc and silver mineralization.

Northern Shield now has an interest in over 1000 square kilometers of claims in the Western James Bay Lowlands.

The proposed route to access the Ring of Fire chromitite deposit cuts through the Highbank Lake and Wabassi Properties.
